Services
While the Masses of Sunday are the principal services of S. Clement's and the focal point of its communal life, other services occur at S. Clement's throughout the week. Morning and evening, the Church is at its work of prayer, thanksgiving, and worship.
Daily Low Mass
Every day at 12.10 in the S. John's Chapel (or the Lady Chapel from Christmas until the Octave Day of the Epiphany) a spoken Low Mass is celebrated. On Saturday, the service occurs at 10.00 am, and on the first Saturday of every month, is followed by the Holy Rosary, sponsored by the Society of Mary.
Daily Vespers and Novena
The evening office, Vespers, is recited each weekday in Quire at 5.30 pm. Following Vespers, Prayers are recited at the Shrine of Our Lady of Clemency, including the Continuous Novena which has been prayed at the Shrine since 1944.
Sunday Vespers and Benediction
Each Sunday at 3.00 pm, S. Clement's gathers for Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Vespers is chanted in Latin, using chant form the Liber Usualis and the pre-Urban Latin Hymns. Following Vespers occur the usual Shrine Prayers at the Shrine of Our Lady of Clemency, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
